Still as confused as I was before. Just tell us in simple plain language. Do we need to combine the SD2SP2 with the Memory Card SD Card adapter and the action replay disc or not? This is so confusing. Just this confusion alone makes it worth it to go for the GC Loader method even if it’s expensive.

Installed new laser but now it's not spinning. Just doing a little jutter and stopping. Double checked the solder was fully removed and all connections are fine. Any ideas anyone?

I used to import used PC Engines from Japan and due to my stereotyping I assumed the Japanese were a very hygienic bunch. But I was shocked because around 8 out of 10 engines were filthy. They were burnt from cigarettes, had food and dead insects in them. They were all mask and gloves jobs 🤮

Don't use goo gone, it leaves behind a residue that just makes it feel weird and nasty. I use a natural air freshener called citrus magic instead (it HAS to be that brand). It's less expensive too <3 it hasn't damaged any of the labels under stickers that I've worked with, and leaves behind a great scent afterward. I personally use the lemon scent since my old job was actually removing a lot of old labels in stores off of store displays to replace with a new label etc and the best way to handle it was in fact magic citrus. I tried goo gone but the residue left behind made my job much harder and lead to write ups.

Hi! Excellent video however I am having issues. Mine is a different model SP611E, very similar with a few inconveniences. I did the same thing as you, building the LED strip with addressable lights, but my 4th and last LEDs from the strip keep acting up! They keep flickering and displaying different colors than the others. I changed the 4th LED only and it worked for a few minutes then both the 4th and last LEDs started acting out again! I changed the last one as well as the third one just to see now and same result. Now the 4th and last won’t even turn on anymore. The 3rd one is flickering too now. I verified continuity of my wires and all seems good and can’t find anywhere where it could short. I am clueless…. Help!! It’s like the LEDs keep failing…?

Question: Could I hypothetically drop the internals of a Japanese N64 into this 3D-printed shell without any issues in regard to playing US N64 games? Also, how and where would I get me one of those custom jewels??? That thing looks nice!

I'm really curious about trying this mod on a GameCube ASCII keyboard controller as PSO doesn't really need analog inputs. Curious if it would work though. The controller is very close to a stock controller, but I'm sure the wiring may be different. Also, the controller doesn't support rumble.

That might be the coolest custom controller I have ever seen. Been building my own GC controller and Gamecube. I just ordered a shinewave kit, a tactile z button, and an Umbrella GC jewel from you. You do top notch work man and your videos have been very helpful with me and my projects. Keep up the great work!

this is what i want to do but i have 250 digital games, and it would cost me like 300-400 dollars to get all the boxes and prints... too bad

not going to lie, your image with the mod does not look noticeably better than an inexpensive xbox2hdmi adapter... it's great that it's internal, it makes it convenient, but, ultimately doesn't do much for the image, and I wouldn't expect it to. These devices just offer a fairly straightforward digitization and transcoding to HDMI

When I look at comparison videos between HDMI modded systems and RGB modded systems, the video with the HDMI mod actually looks a little too bright and washed out a lot of the time. However, I'm using a very good modern LCD TV and also a high end VA monitor, both of which are very bright to begin with, so this probably has a lot to do with that. An HDMI mod which doesn't set the gamma so high might be a good idea for use with modern, properly calibrated LCD or OLED displays. I personally have an RGB modded system with a RAD2X adapter that I use on my TV, and it looks fantastic. In any case, RGB modded systems seem to be so close in quality to HDMI modded systems that they're probably going to be the much better choice for most people. You do have to consider the cost of whatever adapters and cables you're going to need to use with the RGB mod when considering the price difference, but even with that, the HDMI mods are likely to be a lot more expensive.
